Myer set to arrive at Robina Town Centre

Work has commenced on a $90 million expansion project to deliver a new two-level Myer department store and additional speciality retail stores at Robina Town Centre.

This exciting expansion will also include the creation of a new-link shopping mall, a significant upgrade to the Arbour Lane car park and various road improvements.

This fact sheet provides you with information on this expansion and may help to answer some of your initial questions.

When are the works expected to start and finish?

The expansion works will be undertaken from mid 2009 and are expected to be completed by late October 2010.

Who is undertaking the works?

QIC, the owner of Robina Town Centre, has appointed leading project management and construction company, ADCO, to carry-out these expansion works.

Will Robina Town Centre remain open during this time?

Yes, the Centre will remain open for business throughout the expansion works, with all our major retailers including David Jones, Big W, Coles, Woolworths, Target, K-Mart, Borders and Event Cinemas Robina, as well as most of our existing specialty retailers, continuing to trade.

Will there be dust, noise and vibration during construction?

We have endeavoured to minimise impacts on our neighbours, customers and tenants while these works are underway, however we anticipate intermittent noise and vibration may be associated with this work. To assist in this, ADCO will develop a Site Management Plan which will be approved by the Gold Coast City Council, that outlines strategies to minimise these impacts.

Will the area look messy while works are undertaken?

No, every effort will be made to ensure the Centre remains clean and tidy during the expansion works. For safety reasons, the area under construction will be fenced off to the public during this period. This will help to screen most of the works underway.
